Flood waters

Saturday night during a massive rainstorm, big t and I were almost washed away by a flood in my backyard. I was wishing we had spent the day building an ark.

For the last four years I have been trying to figure out what was causing the erosion problem in the back yard and along the side of my house. I have done numorous things to fix it (I built a retaining wall, got gutter helmets, and other things) and nothing has worked. So, during the rainstorm on Saturday I dragged big t outside with me to see what was happening. This is what we saw:

It was amazing! Absolutely insane! I still cannot believe what we saw. Anyone want to come fishing in my rapid river? If we get anymore rain I am going to need a boat to get out of my house!

I clearly see what the problem is... but I still don't know what to do to fix it!!! Any ideas??

We do have a canoe! That would have been fun running the rapids. Chevy, if you are going to make a joke about the fawn you need to at least spell it correctly.

I caught a fish today and almost brought it over to put in your stream.

I saw a snake in the stream of my back yard last night. I also saw a mouse in my garage! The creatures are coming to get me!!!!!

Has the stream dried up? Has your house washed away? I've been tuning in for the next exciting episode, and it's only re-runs!

The stream has dried up... the waters have calmed... only because it has not rained in a few days.

The brainstorming and planning has begun. And hopefully it will all be fixed, for good this time, within a few weeks!

thanks for making me feel better about the fix up projects we have at our house. i dont know what i'd do if i had rapids floating in my basement. i'd probably cry for days and then hire pirate lub to bury treasure in the lower regions of my dwelling.
